Checking Your Credit Reports For Free

There are a few different ways you could potentially get a credit report. You can get a free credit report from the annual credit report company or you could potentially get a merged credit report from another type of service. Regardless, it’s very important for you to always get a credit report on a regular basis.

Get a Merged Credit Report

Those that want a good idea of where their credit history stands should consider a merged credit report. This credit report includes merged data from each of the three main credit bureaus: Experian, Transunion and Equifax. This is a superb way for a consumer to see all of their credit report history at once, rather than having to look through a multitude of files and data for the information that is relevant to them.

Get an Annual Credit Report

If you can’t afford, or feel that you don’t need a merged credit report, a free annual credit report is available through www.AnnualCreditReport.com. You can receive this report through Experian, Equifax or Transunion, or all three of them at once. You can only receive this report once per year. These reports can sometimes be more difficult to read than a merged report and you will have to go through all three reports individually.

If you want a good birds-eye view of your credit situation, a merged report is often better for those that want a comprehensive look at their credit situation.
